You ring, we bring

Theres one great thing about indian and thai places here in London.. they all do home delivery. This is especially useful when you come home cold and tired from a days work and can't be bothered cooking.

The only thing is, we have discovered a bit of an unfortunate trend occuring with our indian orders..... no matter how hard we try to diversify our order or restaurant of choice, the 2 dishes we order always arrive looking exactly the same, whether it be butter chicken (nothing like the Aussie version), lamb Korma, rogan Josh or the Chicken Makani that we tried to branch out with tonight!

leaves me with a big hankering for the old Indian Pearl in Manly!

.... still tastes pretty good though, as shown by the small amount of photographic evidence left!

Les Arcs Round 2

We just got back from a great 4 days skiing at Peisey Vallandry, Les Arcs, the French ski resort where we worked our season last year.

It got off to a slightly slow start when Gav managed to get a lost a few times without even leaving the Europcar carpark, which culminated in us being trapped between boomgates in the maintenance and carwash section! But after sweet-talking the confused maintenance man, we were freed and set off for the slopes in the Renault 'Kangoo' - our bakery van style hire car (apparently a VW Golf or equivalent!?) complete with overhead lockers in the back!

We were lucky enough to be able to stay with our good mates Caz and Dave who run a ski chalet business in Peisey. It was a real treat to be chalet guests this time and on the recieving end of some fantastic food and service.

Despite our lack of practice, our mates Claire and Dom and Nick and Jules who we worked with last year, and who are back running chalets again for this season, had organised for our first day back on the slopes to be a guided off-piste tour with our french friend and instructor, Fred P. So 3rd run of the day saw us taking on one of the biggest off-piste runs Les Arcs has to offer! Despite the lack of recent snow Fred still managed to find us some powder to make the rock hopping all worth it!

The rest of the week was spent enjoying fantastic food and hospitality from Caz, Dave and Gill and the rest of the guys at Chalet 73 and generally getting stuck into the French Alpine lifestyle again. Although the snow wasn't the best we'd seen it, there was enough to have a good time and the dose of sunshine, great company and some good fast runs made up for the lack of powder!
