It's snow time!

It's been a very mild winter so far with average day time temp around 14-15 degrees - not much different from a Sydney winter! But this week it all changed... it's been freezing and this morning we woke up to the great surprise of a completely white and snowy garden! We are clearly still tourists at heart as our immediate reaction was to jump out of bed, grab the camera and run outside to take lots of pics of our Narnia-like landscape (well kind of anyway). Unfortunately Em got a little over-excited and slipped on the first step out the door, giving her a lovely big black bruise on her butt!

The good news is that we are heading to the Alps next week for a bit of skiing/boarding action and to catch up with our mates in Peisey/Les Arcs. While the snow here in London melted by lunchtime, it's apparently looking pretty good in the Alps after a very slow start to the season. So looks like we might have timed it ok!

After a couple of couple of years delay we finally got around to our promise to Gav's mum to throw her out of a plane for her birthday! Here's Lysh, Mum and Brett fresh from having decended 15,000 feet! Mum's trip was made all the more scarey by the fact that her tandem skydive instructor had had his name changed by depol to Fully Sic! (no joking!)

Love is in the air...

Love was definitely in the air during our recent trip back to Sydney and we were lucky enough to celebrate two weddings in the first 3 days of being there!

First off the mark was the wedding of Em's good friend from uni, Fran and her (new) husband, Jon. With the ceremony and reception at Athol Hall overlooking the harbour, it was the perfect setting for a great night of celebration and a very picturesque homecoming for us!

A couple of days later, Em had the special job of being bridesmaid for her sister Natalie's wedding to Matt - the main reason for our trip back home. While the weather was looking a little touch and go the day before (felt almost as cold as London!), the rain held off for a lovely garden ceremony followed by a beautiful reception on the water at Brooklyn.

Both weddings were a highlight of the trip and a great chance to catch up with family and friends while enjoying a party! Both brides looked exceptional - and the grooms looked pretty sharp too! Here are some pics.
